Joan Maier is a Senior Manager in the Client Accounting Services Department at Atchley & Associates, LLP and has been serving clients in the accounting profession since 2002. Joan earned her bachelor’s degree from Southwestern University and completed advanced studies in Finance at St. Edward’s University in Austin. 

With extensive experience serving in executive finance roles, Joan specializes in CFO advisory services, complex accounting, cost accounting, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management, project management, strategic planning, employee benefit compliance, and risk management. She works closely with business owners and leadership teams to improve financial visibility, strengthen decision-making, and develop strategies that support sustainable growth and profitability.

Before joining Atchley & Associates in 2021, she served as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of GREX for 16 years, where she led financial operations, strategic planning, and organizational growth initiatives. Following her corporate leadership career, she founded J Maier Consulting, providing businesses with financial leadership, accounting expertise, and strategic advisory services.

Joan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TXCPA), and Delta Mu Delta, the National Honor Society in Business Administration.
